If you're on an unlimited connection from BSNL Broadband, here's the sad part: once you've exceeded the high speed package of your plan it starts to redirect all your HTTP links to something like this.
BSNL BROADBAND REDIRECTION PAGE |
And this may be the worst part: You try to click on the 'Decline' button but the button doesn't works!!
And, now you're all worried and trying to contact the customer service or look up for the solution on the internet.
I face the same problem every time and I have figured outa general method to fix this problem. I'm not sure if this will work for you, but why not give it a try? So, here are some of the methods or different ways that you can try to clear the problem.
- I assume you're already in the page that you were redirected to and you aren't able to click the 'Decline'. Here, what you wanna do is 'Clear the cookies' of the web browser that you're currently in and once you're done that, close the browser, re-open and if you're again redirected to the same page... Click on the 'Decline'. This may or may not work depending on the BSNL server or modem you have.
- If that didn't work for you, here's another way to do so. you can go to your mobile and open up some webpage (while you're connected to the BSNL Wi-Fi). This will again re-direct you to the same page. Here, hopefully you'll be able to click on the 'Decline' button.
- If none of the above methods worked for you, you would require to RESET the modem manually. You'll be having a small button on your modem either on the bottom or the back side. Push the button and modem will automatically be RESET to default settings and might hopefully fix the problem.
Those were some of the methods that are most followed when facing a problem like this. If none of those worked for you, I'm afraid you'll have to contact your agent and get the problem fixed.
(NOTE: Here's a quick way to register complains on BSNL network. Dial 198 using your Landline and you'll be able to quickly notify them about any problem that you may be facing, be it with the broadband or landline.)
Proceeding further, if you were able to click on the 'Decline' button. I highly recommend you to instantly Reboot your modem in order to avoid future re-directions.
Follow these steps:
1. In the address bar of your browser type 192.168.1.1 and log-in. Default username & password for most will be admin & admin respectively.

2. Next, you'll have to find the Reboot option and click on it.

I hope this small tutorial will have helped you to fix the problem. If it didn't please feel free to leave a comment and I'll try to help you with that.
